Q- I'd love to shoot with you! Whats the next step?
A- You can contact me through email, which is info@thejamesbarnes.com. Email is the easiest method of contacting me day or night, and i will respond usually within 24-48 hours.
Q- What are your rates?
A- For rates information please email the following information to
info@thejamesbarnes.com. Please provide your contact information, details on your project, Project Date, and any additional information regarding the shoot.
Q- Do you shoot on location or studio?
A- I shoot both; On location and in studio can easily be arranged.
Q- How long will the session take?
A- Generally all of my sessions are quick; we get the shots we need and we move on. However depending on the looks, makeup, and styling some sessions will be longer than others. I recommend if there are any other engagements to let that be known beforehand so that a concrete out time can be made.
Q- Is a deposit required?
A- This once again depends on the job and the date you want to shoot. For dates that are more than a week in advance, or for jobs over $200.00 a deposit is required. The deposit is half of the session fee, the other half due before the shoot. Placing a deposit is the easiest method of locking in a set date and time for your shoot.
Q- Do I have to have an MUA/Hairstylist/Wardrobe for my shoot?
A- While its not necessary, all of these elements add much value to your shoot. The perfect shot is not always on the photographer; other elements must be correct for the shoot to be successful. Putting a team together also saves much time in post production, thereby generally ensuring you get your photos back promptly. While i have my own "A-Team" of individuals that can perform the necessary functions to ensure optimal image quality, if you have your own team or individuals that you would like me to work with please let me know and send me a link to their work.
Q- I am a Hair Stylist/MUA/Wardrobe Stylist i'd love to work with you! How can I?
A- Please send an email to info@thejamesbarnes.com titled "A-Team Submission" and include your website as well as short bio/info/resume.
Q- Do you offer retouching services and how much?
A- Yes, I offer retouching services. My rates depend on which elements of your photo you desire to have retouched. For exact pricing your images will need to be emailed to info@thejamesbarnes.com. Please be very detailed in how you want your image edited, the more detail, the easier it will be for me to price the work.
Q- Do you travel?
A- While I am based in NY, I am willing to travel. Travel costs would have to be worked out, as well as lodging and accommodations while there. These would have to be guaranteed in advance, in addition to any deposit required. Additionally, please take into consideration the cost of studio rental/etc in your area if studio time would be needed.
